As we become more adventurous in living 'the green life', more and more opportunities are available to literally roll up our sleeves and get our hands and bodies into the learning process! Workshops in cob building are not new in the US, but have become more popular and the teachers are ready for more students to appear and learn!

Cob or cobb is an ancient building material that consists of clay, sand, straw, water, and earth, similar to adobe. Cob is fireproof, resistant to seismic activity, and inexpensive. It can be used to create artistic, sculptural forms and has been revived in recent years by the natural building and sustainability movements.

Cob may have been used for construction since prehistoric times.
